Cloud and Tifa quickly work their way up to the support tower, where Barret is fighting off some Shinra soldiers. He doesn't seem to be surprised that Cloud is still alive.
"Uh oh, here comes some more bad guy music."
"Duck! Quickly!"
"What good will that do?"
"Shut up!"
Then one of the Shinra's main soldiers named Reno shows up, and after a quick battle, he activates the bomb on the support beam and escapes in a helicopter. He then taunts them with Aeris his captive, but Aeris says "She is all right" before the helicopter leaves. Barret then goes over to a metal hook on a long cord, and tells the others they have to use that to escape on.
"Boy, I hope this convenient little cord doesn't break and fall with the rest of the soon-to-be falling plate up above."
"Oh no, it's too long! SPLAT!"
The three of them swing to safety just as the plate comes crashing down from the destroyed support pillar. They land in the safety of what used to a playground. Barret goes ballistic, but then Tifa calms him down.
"It's OK, Barret. Besides, I think Marlene is safe, remember what Aeris said."
"Every time a buzzer rings, an angel gets gas."
They head back to the Sector 6 slums, and in the back area of it, is a spot near the now destroyed Sector 7 where they can climb up to top level. Here they arrive the Shinra's main headquarters.
"I got a bad feeling about this."
"Ah don't worry, they'll just attack us one or two at a time, just like they always do."
Moving inward, Cloud stops them, and directs them to the side, where a flight of stairs can be accessed for them to sneak into without being seen.
"Bah! I'm starting to get really pissed off at these Shinra engineers!"
After a lengthy climb, they arrive at the sixtieth floor. Out of breath, they meet three guards. They fight and win, and gain an access card to the sixty-first floor.
"What are you doing? Lots of VERY bad people want you dead, and your walking around killing people, and then don't try to hide it! At least take their uniforms, you morons!"
"Calm down Jean."
"No, she's right. And why not take their guns, bullets are usually more useful then a sword."
Moving up the next floor, they convince a guy that they are part of the an engineering crew and get the key to the next floor, then they the key to the floor after that by getting to it, by crawling through some air ducts. The figurehead mayor, who doesn't like Shinra at all, gives them the key to the very next floor, this continues until they reach the 66th floor. Here they overhear through an overhead vent about Shinra's future plans. Dr. Hojo explains his plan of experimentation for Aeris. The president then explains about his plan to find the legendary "Promised Land" to acquire more Mako Energy then ever generated before. After that, the meeting ends. Barret growls about how he is really going to screw the planet up.
"Hmm, it makes we wants to go out and recycle someone's head."
Upon exiting the vent area, they follow Hojo up to the next floor. In a cell of sorts they see a large red lion with Red XIII tattooed on its side. There is another large metal container with Jenova on it, inside is an evil looking creature without a head. Cloud leans back and grabs his head.
"It's one of the Spice Girls!"
"Headless Spice."
"Yeah, and the best singer of the group."
After that, Cloud and the group go up to the next floor. There they find Aeris in a glass cage. Hojo wants to experiment by combining the two Cetra together. They panic as Aeris is introduced to the Lion, but Cloud opens the door to the cage. And Red XIII jumps out and attacks Hojo. He then speaks, and says that he'll take care of Hojo if you help the girl. Then, Tifa helps Aeris out of harm's way as the others fight Hojo's creation. After that the others are there. Hojo has since bolted.
"Where has that coward Hojo run off to?" asks Red XIII.
"Probably the same place that Aeris and Tifa ran off to."
As they start to leave, Tseng and Rude step into the elevator and stop them, capturing them.
"Hey! What are you crazy kids doing? Attacking more than one at a time. That's unfair!"
"And especially since we're fighting more then a couple of enemies, but I guess we can give up now."
The entire group is brought before the president in chains. The usual bad guy taunting takes place. And then they are thrown in cells on the 67th floor.
"Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time."
"67th floor. Evil experiments, meeting to end the world, prisons, and women's lingerie. Everybody off."
"That goes double for you Cloud. I've been watching him tug that thing that he is still wearing from Don Corneo's place. Must be half way up his crack by now."
"Please! I just ate."
"Sorry."
