What was once a dark, desolate sky, was now surprisingly blue. With the death of Animaxus, all his evil doing was erased. The evil surrounding the island was purged, and the souls were now at rest. The river of blood, was now a sparkling blue; the ground was grass, and trees started to reemerge. The once Island of the Damned, was now a paradise, an isolated utopia.
Kyle emerged from the know sparkling river, hacking, and coughing up water. Jessica immediately rushed to her husbands aid. "Kyle! Oh Kyle are you all right?" She put her arms around him, and patted his back to help him cough up the water. "I thought I lost you." Her eyes began to tear.
Finally Kyle stopped coughing, and looked up at her. "What? Me die? Hah, never in a million years!" Kyle's bragging was contradicted by his continual coughing.
A gentle smile crossed her face, and she wiped her tears. "I'm just glad you're safe." Jessica placed Kyle's arms on her shoulders and helped him up. Everyone just looked around at the place. It was beautiful, full of life and splendor. For a moment, they forgot about everything, about the evil this man brought, and about how they almost died.
Then, Alex thought of something he wanted to ask Luna. "Luna, how did you do that? I thought all your powers were lost when you became mortal."
Luna looked down at the ground, then to him and said, "I thought I did too. All I really did was call to all the souls that Animaxus damned, and asked for their help."
Mia turned her glance away from the magnificent waterfall and faced Luna. "Luna, true power comes from within. It matters not, your divine rank, but of the purity in your heart."
Luna just smiled and said, "Thanks Mia." Alex didn't know the significance of Mia's words then, but would alter his life in the future. The serenity of the moment was unsurpassed, however, malevolent forces were not about to let it stay that way.
The blue sky turned black once again, and the ominous voice of Terranox filled the air. "HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA! YOU THINK THE DEATH OF A MERE PAWN CAN STOP ME! YOU HUMANS ARE STUPIDER THAN I THOUGHT! PREPARE TO FACE THE WRATH OF TERRANOX!"
The Island started to shake violently. Trees were being ripped from their roots by this ferocious quake. "Goddamn you Terranox! Goddamn you!" hollered Nash as he raised his fist in anger at the sky.
Mia tugged at Nash's side. "C'mon Nash, let's get out of here!" The party ran, and stumbled down the crumbling mountainside. The beauty was replaced by death once again, as holes in the ground opened up, and boulders were strewn everywhere.
They finally reached the bottom where their boat was docked. Everyone except Alex and Luna were on the boat. Alex was helping Luna onto the bow, when a fissure opened beneath their feet. Alex immediately pulled Luna back to him, but the force had pushed the vessel adrift. Luna and Alex were stranded on a sinking island.
"Quick, use the Dragon Wings!" Luna suggested.
"Of course!" Alex answered as he pulled them from his satchel. He was about to use them when a violent earth movement knocked him to the ground. The force knocked the Dragon Wings out of his hands and into the abyss below him. "No!" Alex yelled as he reached for them in vain. He looked over at Luna with a look of great depression. They both knew they were not going to make it off the island.
The shaking got worse, and the chasms were coming closer to them. Luna wrapped her arms around Alex and started to cry into his chest. "Alex I'm scared. What's gonna happen to us? I don't want to die!"
Alex calmed her down the most he could, while the Earthquakes were ripping the place apart. "Luna, listen to me. I have a feeling that this is not the end. The others will find a way to defeat Terranox. Until then though, remember, I'll always love you."
Luna kissed him and said, "I love you too." Those were their last words as the entire island was swallowed up, along with them on it.
The realm in which the God of Destiny resided was unstable. The god hadn't said anything for a long time. He just watched, as the Dragonmaster and his wife were swallowed into the abyss. Byron was getting tired of the silence.
"Master, now what? Obviously, Terranox still has a solid link to Lunar."
The God of Destiny also broke his silence as he answered, "NOW, WE MOVE. TERRANOX IS A LOT STRONGER THAN I FEARED. THE DRAGONMASTER MUST FIND KANE."
Byron was surprised, and asked confusedly, "Kane!? He is supposed to be sealed away for all of eternity."
The God of Destiny's voice thundered through his small nexus of time and space. "SO WAS TERRANOX, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE, HE IS ALIVE AND WELL ISN'T HE!!!!"
Byron had never seen his master so angry. He was more fearful of his master than ever in his life. "Y, yes master. I understand now."
"GOOD. NOW, SEND THE DRAGONMASTER TO LOGRANDIA TO FIND KANE. AND MAKE HASTE, WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME LEFT."
Byron stood up straight, and tried to look as stern as possible. "Yes master!" Byron vanished, in an aura of blue light.
"TERRANOX, YOU ARE REALLY STARTING TO ANGER ME. I WILL USE EVERY POSSIBLE RESOURCE I HAVE, TO PUT AN END TO YOUR REIGN OF DARKNESS. GOOD LUCK DRAGONMASTER, YOU'LL NEED IT."
