Chapter 2

Jessica was standing at the altar in a temple. There were many priests and priestesses expanding their knowledge. Along with some apprentices. Jessica was happy. Her life was going so well. She was a High Priestess, and had been married to Kyle for about 3 years now.

Her smile was broken by the sound of the ground shaking. "EARTHQUAKE!" screamed most of the people. Jessica hurries to the door. a huge block of stone fell in front of her knocking her off her feet.

"Stay calm!" she tried to yell but to no avail. The Earthquake was too loud. The temple was falling apart. Nobody knew what to do or where to go.

Just then, a huge chasm opened up in the floor. It grew bigger, and bigger. Jessica tried to get up, but kept getting knocked down. She thought she was going to die. "Jessica!" Jessica could swear she could hear Kyle's voice. The Chasm opened up under her feet and she fell in. "Kyle!" She cried as she fell down the chasm. "Help me!"

"Jessica! Jessica wake up!" Kyle shouted shaking his wife out of her sleep. Jessica stopped shaking and opened her eyes. She looked at Kyle and her started to fill with tears.

"Kyle!" Jessica screamed as she embraced her husband. Jessica started crying harder than Kyle had ever heard her cry.

"It's okay Jess," Kyle said trying to soothe his wife. "It's was only a Nightmare."

"It was so real," Jessica said her tears starting to lighten up, "I was just standing there at the temple. Then there was this earthquake and I couldn't move and..." She was unable to finish as she burst into tears again.

"You're probably just nervous about making an appearance at that new temple," Kyle said still trying to calm Jessica down.

"But it was so real," Jessica told him, her tears starting to lighten up again. "It was almost like a premonition," Jessica said wiping her eyes.

"Listen," Kyle said as he looked into Jessica's eyes, "if you're that worried, don't go."

"Are you sure?" Jessica asked Kyle in disbelief.

"Of course I'm sure. Whatever makes you happy. Anyway, if it is a premonition, I wouldn't want my beautiful wife to be dead, now would I?" Kyle's comment raised a smile on Jessica's face. "Now there's that beautiful smile that any man would die for." Kyle leaned forward and gave his wife a kiss.

Jessica embraced Kyle again and whispered in his ear, "Thank you Kyle, thank you." Kyle gave Jessica another kiss, and they laid down in bed. Neither could get to sleep though. Jessica was still a bit frightened by the dream. Kyle was also worried about the dream. He had never seen Jessica cry so hard before. Sure she has had nightmares once and a while, but never has she cried so passionately. That must have been one scary nightmare Kyle thought to himself. I have to ask for the details tomorrow when she feels better.
