Chapter 6

Nall and Dyne were inside the White Dragon's Lair when all of a sudden, a bright blue light filled the cave. When the light dimmed Byron appeared. "Who are you, and how did you get here!?" Nall demanded.

"Calm down Nall and listen," Byron told the dragon. "I have very important information to tell you."

"What kind of information?" Dyne asked.

"About the earthquakes, Dyne," Byron said.

"How do you know I'm Dyne?" Dyne asked, astonished.

"That's not important," Byron told him, "now listen. The quakes are caused by a being called Terranox. He is the 'dark half' of Lunar, and is starting to awaken."

"So all we have to do is kill this Terranox guy, right?" Nall asked Byron, starting to get an idea.

"Wrong," Byron replied. "Terranox is Lunar's 'dark half ' so, kill him, and you will destroy lunar as well."

Nall was taken back by surprise then asked, "How do we stop him then?"

"Byron hesitated, he didn't know how either, he had to think fast. "I cannot tell you."

"Your not giving us much to go on here, buddy!" Nall screamed at him. "And you still haven't told us your name, or your purpose!" Nall was getting quite irritated.

"I cannot tell you that either," Byron answered, "good luck." The cave filled with that same blue light and Byron vanished.

"Now what?" Nall asked Dyne.

"We wait for Alex," Dyne answered, "and tell him as much as we can. But now, we have to work on a way to stop this Terranox."

Alex was sitting in his house when he received a letter. He looked at the envelope and noticed that it was from Nash. "Hey Luna," Alex called to his wife, "we got a letter from Nash and Mia."

"What does it say?" Luna asked as she walked towards him.

"It says:

Dear Alex and Luna,

As you may have noticed there has been a rash of earthquakes recently. Each quake was bigger than the last. I know these quakes are not natural. More quakes have probably occurred since I sent this letter, and unfortunately, people probably died in the quakes. I currently have two ideas on the cause. I have sent wizards to the sites of the quakes to see if they detect any mana in case it's a rouge wizard. I also have sent some wizards over to Taben's tower to see if he has anything to do with it. I would like you two to see if you can figure anything over there. These quakes attack without warning, please be careful.

                                       Your friend,

                                             Nash.

"Alex, what's going on?" Luna asked Alex.

"I don't know Luna," Alex answered her, "but we have to tell Nall about this."

"Great idea," Luna said, "let's go." Alex and Luna left their house and started towards the dragon's cave.

Alex and Luna were soon at the Dragon's Cave. As soon as they entered Alex's head was filled with a flood of memories. Memories of his first adventure with Luna and Ramus. Memories of Quark. Alex shook his head trying to remove the fowl memories of when Ghaleon murdered Quark. He knew though, he would have to live the memories.

Alex and Luna entered Nall's Lair. Nall was a huge majestic White Dragon. He could hardly believe that was the same flying cat thing he used to know. His voice boomed through the cave. "Alex, welcome, miss me already?"

"We came to tell you about the recent quakes." Alex said.

"We know about them." Nall told them all about what Byron had said.

"Anyone got any ideas how to stop him without killing him?" Alex asked.

"Mel's birthday is in a couple of days so everyone will be there." Luna said. "Maybe one of them might have an idea."

"It's old Mel's birthday huh?" Dyne asked. "I sure wish I could see him again."

"Dyne," Luna said, "why don't you go to Meribia with us. It's been a long time, he'll be happy to see you. And besides, it would make a great birthday present compared to the other stuff we have to tell him."

Dyne thought then said, "You're right! I would like to see Mel again, when do we go?"

All of a sudden the ground started to shake. Alex was almost tossed off his feet. just as quickly as it started, it stopped.

"What was that?" Luna asked.

"Another quake," answered Nall.

"Where's the chasm?" asked Dyne. "It was too strong to have been somewhere else."

"Oh no!" screamed Nall.

"What's wrong, Nall?" Alex asked.

"It's Saith," Nall said.

Back to Chasm of Darkness.

Back to the Library of Vane.

Back to the Shrine to Ghaleon.
