Today is the day of Mel's 56th birthday. Everyone is already at his mansion in Meribia. Alex, Luna, and Dyne just arrived, via the Dragon Wings.
"Happy birthday Mel," Luna said as she walked into the room.
"Sorry we're late," Alex said as he walked in behind her.
"No trouble at all," Mel assured them, "by the way, did you hear that my daughter is going to have a baby?"
"Congratulations Jessica!." Luna said to her.
"We have some more good news," Alex told the group. "Mel, there's someone I want you to meet."
Alex stepped away from the door and a shadowy figure entered the room. "By the goddess!" exclaimed Mel. "It's Dyne!"
"Sorry I had to keep it from you so long Mel, but I'm alive and well."
"It doesn't matter, as long as your here now," Mel said to Dyne.
"I'm sorry to break the happy mood," Nash said, "but I got a lot of really bad news."
"If it's about the earthquakes, I got some answers." Alex told everyone about Terranox.
Jessica gasped. "Terranox, that's the same thing that was inside of me."
"And according to Terranox," Kyle continued, "his darkness is already spreading across all of Lunar!"
The entire room entered an uncomfortable silence. That silence was broken by a courier rushing into the room. "Master Mel, Master Mel! An urgent message from Vane. An earthquake struck without warning and swallowed the entire city! Luckily Miss Lemia was able to rescue a lot of the people with her transfer spell but, there were still many casualties." The messenger lowered his head in grief.
Nash clenched his fists. His face was red with anger. "Nooo! It took seven long years to rebuild Vane and now this happens!"
Mia got up and put her hands on Nash's shoulders. "Nash, calm down," she said trying to soothe him.
"I can't calm down!" Nash screamed as he pushed Mia away. "Seven years Mia, seven long years all destroyed in minutes! Damn that Terranox! Damn him!"
"Yes Nash and we will rebuild again," Mia paused and looked at Nash, "together. With our daughter we shall rebuild."
Nash started to calm down and relax. "Your right Mia, thank you. I don't know what I would do without you."
"Yeah, that's all well and nice but, what are we going to do?" Mel said cutting in.
Kyle stood up and said, "Well, Terranox is destroying Lunar as we speak and we don't know where he is, or how to stop him. I say we go ask Damon."
"It's about time someone had an idea." Dyne said as he also stood up.
"Sounds like a plan." Alex said. "Dyne you return to The Dragon Cave with Nall. Keep an eye out and report any strange happenings. Mel, you can stay here and watch Meribia. Get ready to evacuate though, it might be Terranox's next target. The rest of us will head to Damon's spire via the White Dragon Wings." Everyone nodded and went their ways.
Meanwhile, in the Dark Earth, Terranox was watching their every move. HA, HA, HA, HA. SO, THE HUMANS THINK THEY CAN ACTUALLY STOP ME! THOSE FOOLS. I SHALL MESS UP THEIR LITTLE PLAN. NO ONE CAN STOP THE LORD OF DARKNESS, TERRANOX! HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA!
Alex and the others arrived at Damon's spire. "Ah, Alex you came to ask about Terranox, right?"
"Exactly," Alex answered, "what can you tell us?"
"An evil necromancer by the name of Animaxus used all his evil power to call up the Lord of Darkness. That is Terranox's link to our world. If you hurry up and kill him soon, it should destroy the link. You must make haste though before Terranox has created a solid grip on Lunar!"
"Why would someone do such a thing?" Luna asked.
"Animaxus is pure evil. He wants only to rule all of Lunar with an army of undead minions. Terranox promised him that once the Dark Earth was once more in control, he could fill it with his undead armies."
"Where can we find this evil fiend?" Nash asked.
"In a forgotten corner of Lunar is the Island of the Damned. This is where Animaxus resides."
Without warning, the spire started to shake. The walls were collapsing all around them. "Terranox!" Alex shouted.
"Quick," Damon said starting to panic, "take the boat outside. Terranox has found you! You must stop this darkness before it's too late!" With that, Alex used the Dragon Wings to warp outside onto the boat.
The boat started to sail away on it's own while the group watched the destruction of Damon's spire. Where the once great keeper of knowledge resided, was now no more than a giant chasm. Alex held Luna at his side. They both looked into each other's eyes. Neither of them said a word, but they knew exactly what they were feeling. This journey was going to be tough, but they had to try their hardest. Who knew what lay ahead, or how many chasms would litter the land when they returned. Blindly the party sailed toward the Island of the Damned.
