Strength in finding, strength in longing,
Kindling to the phoenix fire
Twist and writhe in solemn waltz
Before the empty soul.
I, in shining light did walk,
Blinded by its brightness,
Unable to see past death and love
To know they are the same.
The delicate mar in life's tapestry
Gestured warnings unheeded
At the bereaved shell so alone
Gliding the vacant halls of memory.
Ah, but come two kindred
Shadows of my touch. Ephemeral.
Their silent words I understand
Becoming the missing link
To the whole. Filling the vacant spot
Within the recesses of the mind
Left dusty by the loss,
Water cleanses the weary flames.
Wind and moon, sun and stars. Dance.
The twilight beckons onward
Because I roam the darkened land
Waiting for skies to fall.
The worlds beyond rush to me
But I welcome their dancing lights
For the moon is reflected in them
And the shine off silver hair.
