"I guess we could take them to Meribia," said Nall, "they should be safe at Mel's place."
"Okay then," said Jean, "Ruby, Lemina, and I will stay and look after Hiro and Alex."
"Fine," said Leo. He picked up Kyle and headed downstairs.
Nall carried Nash while Ronfar took Mia and Jessica. They then used the dragon wings and warped to Meribia.
While they were gone Hiro woke up.
"Wh..Where am I?" he murmured.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Ruby asked as she approached him.
"Ghaleon grabbing hold of my shirt and flinging me over his shoulder," he said. "Then everything went black. Why do you ask?"
"Because," said Jean, "Ghaleon had control of your mind and tried to get you to kill Alex."
"I tried to kill Alex!" said Hiro. He attempted to sit up. "Why am I strapped down?" he asked.
"We didn't know if we could trust you," said Lemina.
"But it's obvious that we can," said Ruby as she started to untie Hiro.
"No Ruby," said Hiro, "I don't think that's such a good idea. What if Ghaleon spell takes over again? For Alex's safety I should remain like this."
"But it's not fair," said Ruby.
Just as night was falling Leo, Nall, and Ronfar returned.
"Well," asked Jean, "how are they?"
"Just fine," said Nall, "as a matter of fact they should be coming back here tomorrow."
The next day Kyle, Nash, Mia, and Jessica arrived at Reza. They then headed straight for the pub.
As they stood around upstairs trying to figure out what to do next, the bar owner ran up to them. "Quick!" he shouted,"the Vile Tribe's here and is looking for your two friends there!" He pointed at Hiro and Alex.
Kyle ran to Alex's bed and picked him up. "I'll hide Alex!" he said, "untie Hiro and take care of them!" He then headed to the thieves market.
Nall untied Hiro.
"Now!" said Hiro climbing out of bed and grabbing his sword, "let's go take care of the Vile Tribe!"
They raced out of the bar and started fighting them.
During the fight, Hiro was knocked out and taken back to Ghaleon.
"How could you let him get caught!" yelled Ruby.
"Calm down," said Nall, "there's nothing we could do. We were lucky just to hold our own."
"I know," said Ruby, "but I'm just worried about what Ghaleon's going to do with him."
Ghaleon paced back and forth in front of Hiro. "I sent you out to do a simple job and you fail me," he said.
"And I'm glad I did," said Hiro.
"But now I'm going to have to keep my other vow," said Ghaleon.
"What other vow?" asked Hiro.
"I said that if you failed me I would kill you," answered Ghaleon. He turned towards the door. "You can come in now," he said.
Luna walked into the room.
"Now Althena," Ghaleon said, "I order you to take care of this boy so he is no longer a problem for me."
Luna nodded and began casting a spell.
"Luna!" cried Hiro. "No!" But she didn't hear him.
When she was finished, she walked up to Hiro and touched his cheek.
Almost immediately a crystal began to cover his body. Hiro screamed in pain and fell over. After five minutes he was completely encased.
Ghaleon threw his head back and laughed.
Six days later Xenobia raced into his throne room. "Alex and his friends are in the castle and are on their way up here. What should we do?"
Ghaleon stood up. "I want you to go into the other room," he said to her, "and change into a likeness of Luna. Then when Alex and his friends show up tell them that you've accepted me as the ruler of Lunar."
"Brilliant," said Xenobia, "I'll do that right away." She then left the room.
Ghaleon turned and walked to the door behind him. He stood and looked at the goddess. "Soon Althena," he said, "I will be rid of those meddlesome friends of yours."
"I wouldn't bet on that Ghaleon," Alex said from behind him.
Ghaleon turned and looked at them. "So little Alex became a Dragonmaster," he said, "how endearing. You've come to fight for the soul of your dear Luna, but you're too late. I'm already in control of the goddess! Face it you don't stand a chance Dragonboy."
"What have you done with Hiro!" yelled Ruby.
"You mean him?" said Ghaleon pointing to a huge crystal in the corner behind him.
"NO!" screamed Ruby. She ran up to the crystal crying.
Alex looked at Ghaleon. "You'll pay for doing that to him!" he shouted. He turned to the group. "Are you ready to teach Ghaleon a lesson?" he asked.
"You bet we are!" they all shouted at the same time.
They formed a circle around Ghaleon and began advancing on him. After they had beaten him they joined Ruby who was still crying in front of Hiro.
"Are you all right?" Alex asked her.
She shook her head.
Nall then approached her. "There might be a way to get him back," he said.
"How?" she asked.
"Althena might be able to help him," he answered her.
Ruby stood up and headed towards the goddess's room. "Let's go ask her then," she said.
They made their way into the room.
"Infidels!" said Luna, "how dare you invade my inner sanctum. Prepare to die!"
"Isn't the spell Ghaleon put on her suppose to stop when he died?" said Mia.
"It should have," said Alex.
It was then they noticed two figures appearing in front of them.
"Good work Dragonmaster," said a dragon angel, "Lunar is saved. Now all that remains is to awake Althena from Ghaleon's dark spell."
"Great," said Nall, "then Luna, Alex, and I can go home."
Nall shook his head. "I'm afraid not," he said, "if they wake her up, then Luna will cease to exist."
Just then the dragon angels were hit by a spell from behind the group.
They whirled around to see Ghaleon leaning against the door.
"Doesn't he ever stay dead?" Kyle asked.
"I'm not finished with you yet," he said. "You'll never... make it... out of here... alive, Dragonboy. Cower in fear as I demonstrate my... true ... power!" He dropped his helmet and transformed into an ugly black dragonlike creature.
"Looks like we've got another fight on our hands," said Alex. "You ready?"
Everyone nodded.
Once again they encicled Ghaleon and fought him.
"Let's hope he's dead for good this time," said Nash after the fight was over.
"Now what?" said Mia looking at the spot the dragon angels had been.
"Now you free Althena," said one of the dragon angels.
"How?" asked Alex.
"Use your harp," said the other dragon angel, "play something that will bring Luna back to you."
Alex turned and looked at his friends.
"Go for it," said Kyle.
She needs you," said Jessica.
"Do it for Lunar," said Nash.
"I'm sure she loves you," said Mia.
Alex then looked at Nall.
Nall smiled at him. "You can do it Alex," he said.
Alex nodded and started toward the goddess. He was hit by lightning. He stopped and played his harp.
"Alex."
He then started walking again. When he reached the first bend he stopped again and played his harp a second time.
"Alex, where are you?"
He proceeded to the next bend. He then stared straight at the goddess.
"Who are you?" asked Luna, "your power shields you from my spell. Stay back. One more step and you die!" Lightning flashed around her.
Alex took a chance and ran towards her. "Luna!" he yelled.
Luna gasped. "You!" she said. She then screamed and passed out.
Alex caught her and held her in his arms.
Luna slowly opened her eyes. "Alex?" she said, "it's really you. I was trapped in a terrible nightmare. It was dark and I was so cold and alone. But I never doubted that you'd come and rescue me, not even for a moment. Oh Alex. Alex." She sighed and laid her head on his shoulder as he carried her out of the room.
"What do we do about him?" asked Ruby as they approached the crystalized Hiro.
"I think I can help with that problem," said someone in the next room.
Everyone turned towards the direction of the voice. A figure stepped through the door.
"Lucia, so you made it," said Nall walking up to her.
"Yes Nall," she answered. She then approached Luna.
Luna backed away. "Alex?" she said. "Who is this? And why does she look like me?"
"It's okay Luna," said Nall, "I'd like you to meet your sister Lucia."
Lucia walked up to Luna. "If you let me put my hand on your forehead, everything will be explained," she said.
Luna gulped and nodded.
Lucia smiled and put her hand on Luna's forehead. After a minute Lucia removed her hand.
Luna smiled. "I remember everything," she said.
"Everything?" said a nervous Alex.
"Don't worry," said Luna, "I haven't forgotten about us."
Alex sighed in relief.
Luna then walked up to Hiro. "Now we should reverse the spell I was forced to use on him and bring him back to life." She turned to Lucia. "I will need your help."
Lucia nodded and joined Luna near Hiro. They put their arms around the crystal and joined hands. Then the two of them started chanting. A bright light enveloped the three of them. When it disappeared the two goddesses were holding up Hiro.
He moaned and opened his eyes. "Lucia?" he said. "What are you doing here?"
Lucia smiled and hugged him. "I missed you," she whispered in his ear.
Luna cleared her throat. "We should now erase any memory of each other and send them back to their own times," she said.
Lucia looked at her and nodded.
So one by one, their memories of ever meeting were erased except for the three dragons, Luna, and Lucia. Then everyone was returned to their own time.
Hiro yawned and sat up in his bed. "Boy," he said, "what a dream."
"Good morning Hiro," said Lucia as she walked into the room, "did you sleep well?"
"Actually," he said, "I had the weirdest dream. I dreamed I went back in time and met Dragonmaster Alex."
"Oh really," said Lucia. She turned around to lay his breakfast on the dresser and smiled.
