Epilogue II

Far from the green forests and small settlements were the cold wastes of the Blue Star. In the middle of these frigid lands stood a tall crystal tower...the home of the guardian of the Blue Star.

The pinnacle of this tower had been empty for the past several weeks as the current guardian, Lucia, had been on the surface of Lunar on a mission to discover the wherabouts of Goddess Althena. In the course of her duties, it was necessary to fight against and seal away the evil deity Zophar to prevent the destruction of the planet.

Lucia, with a group of companions from Lunar, was successful in her mission and learned that Althena was in fact no more. Alone, she returned to the Blue Star with a heavy heart.

However, one of her compatriots, Hiro, undertook another voyage in order to return to the side of the one he loved. He travelled to the Blue Star via the Star Dragon Tower on Lunar and was reunited with Lucia.

The two lived together in the Crystal Spire for several weeks, watching over the Blue Star's slow rebirth. Lucia knew that the world indeed had scattered packets of life that had survived the destruction by Zophar and his vile helpers. She also knew that the lesser evils still lay hidden on the Blue Star, but the Fifth dragon of Althena was present to watch over those small settlements.

She did not know of Baldour's second coming...or of his subsequent defeat...since she was on Lunar for weeks. She also did not know of the Dark Scimitar's location...only that it had to remain protected and hidden to prevent its evil from being awakened.

-----

With Hiro and Lucia on the Blue Star, the other heroes of Lunar dispersed and returned to their regular lives. Each did not know of the events set into motion on the Blue Star by Baldour's death.

The Red Dragon Ruby probably travelled the most out of all of them. She regularly visited each of them, listening to tales and relaying info among them. Ruby also spent a great deal of time with Nall, the White Dragon, learning more about her dragon powers (including how to morph into a human...eventually). She also stayed with Hiro's Grandfather Gwyn to keep him company with his grandson away. Lastly, she visited the Dragon Caves as part of her duty as a Dragon of Althena.

The priest/gambler Ronfar settled down back in Raculi with his love Mauri. Their relationship moved along briskly, and a date was set for their marriage.

Jean returned to the Carnival. She continued to try and forget the horrible events of her past and put all her energy into dancing once again. Occasionally, she did make an exhibition of her karate skills to her troupe, but only when mixed with her dancing to create a beautiful and dangerous new art.

The junior premier of Vane, Lemina, also returned home but worked hard to rebuild the Magic Guild of Vane to its previous glory. She regularly travelled to Meribia and other nearby towns in search of prospects to join. A few classes were even held in Vane for the new generation of magicians.

Her mother Miria and the former magician Borgan slowly moved along in their relationship... much to Lemina's dismay. She was too busy to do anything to prevent it however, particularly with the bet she made with Ramus of Meribia hanging over her every minute.

Leo, the former head of Althena's Guard, took control of the DragonShip Destiny after Hiro left for the Blue Star (Gywn didn't want it in his backyard, after all). He visited Gywn occasionally for a chat, as well as his sister Mauri and soon to be brother-in-law Ronfar back in Raculi. Leo spent most of his time travelling all over Lunar, seeking adventure and exploration. He was also responsible for returning Althena's sword back to Nall when Hiro left Lunar.

Nall remained in possession of the sword at the top of Taben's Peak. Not needed, he kept it hidden when he was away from the tower. Otherwise, it stayed in his back sheathe at all times.

With Pentagulia no more, the cities of Meribia, Vane and Azado took dominance as the new government of Lunar. The rebuilding from Zophar's return was first priority, followed by an establishment of a community based society in which all towns who would have a say.

From his tower near the Forest of Illusion, the Star Dragon constantly looked toward the slowly recovering Blue Star. He also kept watch on the two possible gateways between the worlds... his own tower and the Blue Spire... to prevent any further 'invaders' to Lunar.

-----

The Crystal tower on the Blue Star stood dormant except for Hiro and Lucia. The lower floors were inhabited only by statues and seemed cold and lifeless...much like the arctic wastes outside.

One evening, Hiro sat at Lucia's side, staring into the hearth located at the center of the tower's pinnacle. The flames licked playfully at the wooden fuel inside the hearth.

Hiro looked to Lucia, noticing that she had been quiet for several minutes... and deathly still.

"Lucia...?"

Lucia seemed in a daze. Her attention appeared far away.

"Lucia, what's the matter?"

She snapped to attention quickly.

"Oh, Hiro... it was just something from the past... something Althena once informed me about..."

With an inquisitive look, Hiro replied, "What?"

"Nothing... probably only an old dream... about a dark sword that was supposedly buried on the Blue Star. Its only a myth though..."

Lucia then murmured something about going to sleep to think. Hiro thought her manner to be very strange, since she had slightly become more open and talkative since he had come to the Blue Star. This was almost a reverting to how she had acted when Lucia first came to Lunar.

As she walked off to nap, Hiro sat there looking into the flames and wondering just what she had meant by 'dark sword'.
