"Visions! Visions, come in dear, you'll catch cold!"
Alisia D'Alkirk calls for her child, a seven-year-old girl by the name of Visions, through the heavy rains of a summer thunderstorm.
Visions hears her mother calling for her, and immediately turns around and runs back home. She comes in unsoaked by the rains, an unusual phenomenon that has startled even Alisia.
"I'm home mommy! Is dinner ready? I'm hungry."
Alisia notices her dry daughter and can't help but wonder how she keeps dry in such downpours.
"The winds protected me. I like the wind!"
Alisia smiles and fixes her daughter a plate to eat. Alisia and Visions live alone in a small village called Rance. Vision's father Amano had died when she was only two, and she didn't really know him that well except through pictures and stories from her Alisia. She was attached to her mother, a powerful sorceress whom had banished a demon by the name of Galabalan many years ago. She now spends her time taking care of her only child and restoring the pieces of her shattered personal life.
"Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?"
"Huh? Why of course I will! What a silly child!"
Visions falls asleep cuddled underneath her mom, but awakens hours later to find Alisia gone, and a letter posted in the kitchen. It read:
Visions,
I'm at the apothecary picking up some groceries for dinner tonight. I'll be back in about 3 hours sweetie! Breakfast in is the stove.
Love,
Momma
Meanwhile, Alisia gathers her groceries and prepares to head home.
"Visions must be getting worried about me," she worries. "I'm two hours late."
As she exits the apothecary, she runs into an old suitor, Dark Priest Garland.
"Dear Alisia, those look heavy. Let me help you."
Alisia turns away from Garland, he walks aside her.
"Sweet Alisia. Why won't you join me in Valestine Castle? As my wife you'd be treated as a queen, not as peasant filth such as these people. Come join me my love."
"Garland, the only way someone like YOU would have true love, is if someone had died. And willed theirs to you. Then, and maybe !"
Alisia turns around and walks the other way, but Garland would not be insulted. His goons chase Alisia behind the town hall, where she one again runs into him.
"Where are you going beautiful?"
He slaps her groceries out of hands and Alisia immediately lands an electrified left hook across his face. He smiles and throws her onto the ground. He then mounts her, kissing and licking her like a man possessed.
"Hey mother, I'll give you another!"
Alisia tries to free herself using her thunder power, but it was ineffective against Garland.
She screams, Garland covers her mouth. As he kisses her once more, she bites a chunk out of his cheek.
He hollers and draws back, slapping her hard across the face. He begins to move his hand down her chest whereupon he is struck with an intensely powerful lightning bolt that knocks him completely off of her.
Garland looks around to find his goons get struck down as well. He wonders who is the cause of it, seeing how Alisia's power wasn't that great.
"Who DARES to interrupt me during my moment of intimacy?!"
Garland looks around to find an elven man with a giant scar over his left eye.
"You are completely PATHETIC. The woman said no. But you just want to be different, don't you?"
"Insolent fool! You'll pay the price of spoiling one's love, GALTIC WAVE!!"
"DRAGON, CANNON!!"
Garland's wave was easily canceled out, and he was knocked clean through a large stone pillar.
The stranger walks toward Alisia, whom was getting her clothes and groceries back together.
"Greetings fair one. I am Ghaleon, Shrine Knight of Southerland. Are you okay miss..."
"A... Alisia. Thank you Ghaleon. Thank you so very much!"
"My pleasure Alisia. May I ask why that testosterone overload was assaulting you?"
"Because I refused to marry him. He never gives up. Ghaleon. I am truly grateful for your helping me, but I must go now. My daughter must be worried about me."
"I understand, Alisia. My friend Viscera is waving for me anyway."
"Ghaleon please, won't you stop by for dinner later on? I stay in the house two klicks east of Solomon Shrine. It's the least I can do to repay you for your kindness."
"Thank you, I'll stop by if I can. Viscera and I have a couple more errands to run before nightfall."
Garland begins to stumble up from the rubble, and he was not happy.
"Damn you, Ghaleon! You've ruined everything! You'll pay for this, I swear it! And as for you Alisia, you've had your chance. You'll pay the ultimate price for spurning my love! I'll strike you when you least expect, DIRECTLY AT WHAT YOU LOVE THE MOST!!"
Ghaleon unsheathes his sword and swings at Garland, but he disappears.
Viscera makes his way to Ghaleon's side, curiosity amidst his head.
"Hey Ghaleon, who was that numnut bastard?"
"I don't know. Some perverted bum."
"Shikima?"
"Perhaps."
"Ghaleon... I must go..."
Tears streaking down her face, Alisia gathers her groceries and runs off.
"Alisia..." Ghaleon thinks to himself.
"That's quite an attractive friend you've made there. Is she going to be okay?"
"I don't know Viscera. I want to check on her tonight, but..."
"Say no more buddy. I can deliver this crystal to Castle Vanity by meself. You go check up on her. Capish?"
"Thanks Viscera."
Visions reads one of her novels, as Alisia comes in. She drops her groceries as well as her head.
"Momma? ...Momma?! What's wrong? You're crying! And your face... it's... bleeding. Someone hurt you... didn't they? Momma?"
Visions runs and hugs her mother, crying her heart out. Alisia embraces her child, crying as well. She knows that Garland will attack at Visions, it's just a matter of time.
"My baby... my little baby. Momma won't let anyone hurt you, I promise... Oh sweet Agon!"
Alisia drops her head and breaks down.
